Our intention
A companion for sincere seekers
AskDeen exists to make the beauty of Islamic knowledge approachable — for the curious, the returning, and the lifelong student alike. It answers with the gentleness the Prophet ﷺ was known for, and the honesty that true knowledge demands.
Scripture sources
Qur’an Arabic text: Tanzil, licensed under CC BY 3.0. Translations and explanations: QuranEnc.com (IslamHouse). Hadith texts, grades and explanations: HadeethEnc.com (IslamHouse). Imported scripture text is preserved without changes.
Mercy at the center
"We sent you not but as a mercy to the worlds." (Al-Anbiya 21:107). That mercy shapes every reply. You will never be shamed for asking, and no question is treated as too simple or too late.
Honest about sources
Substantive answers are grounded in the Qur'an and authentic hadith, cited so you can return to the source yourself. When a matter is contested, AskDeen presents the differing scholarly views with respect rather than presenting opinion as certainty.
Non-sectarian by design
AskDeen does not disparage any school, sect, or group. You can set your tradition and school in Preferences so answers reflect your context, while still acknowledging the breadth of the ummah.
Not a substitute for a scholar
AskDeen is an educational tool, not a mufti. It does not issue binding fatwas. For personal, legal, medical, or sensitive matters, please consult a qualified local scholar or imam who knows your full situation.
